After finding my block of dirt. It was nerve-racking choosing the right builders who were going to give me what I wanted. It took a good 6 months to sit down with the ladies at Fergus and design the perfect home. They were the best to deal with and made it so easy!! After the designing came to the building, I love how easy-going everyone was in helping me get what I wanted. I love my new family at Fergus, thanks for the experience. 

Marissa and I would like to thank everyone at Fergus for everything you have done for us during the construction of our home and the insane top-quality job you have produced. The house speaks for itself. When you drive down the street you see this grand palace which sits seamlessly 1.5 meters off the ground. It blows my mind how you were able to make an elevated house look like a mansion on ground level. Everyone I know and show through this home think we have built a 5-million-dollar castle. I still feel out of place because it’s too flash lol. What I took away most of all from the build process was the fact that nothing was ever a problem or too hard to achieve. The team always seemed organised, and each stage appeared to flow seamlessly. This was especially impressive as it was during the pandemic, but we didn’t see any hold ups. All your staff where easy to deal with during the build and were helpful, friendly, and seemed to want to give us the end result we wanted. For us this was an easy process and hope as customers we weren’t too painful. I highly recommend Fergus to anyone looking to build and I hope you guys are all proud of what you have achieved.

Where do I even start with the Fergus team! From the moment I seen their display house I fell instantly in love, and from that point onwards I knew that the next house I built was 110% going to be with Fergus. The design, quality and workmanship of the house was incredible and this was all backed by an amazing team of talented people. This was the second home I have built and the experience this time around was incomparable. We had given them a piece of paper with a rough drawing of the layout of the house to suit the shape of the land, and they literally brought it to life. They dedicate a whole day and take you on a “Design/Selections Day” (one of many!) and have a member of the team there to support you and help you with the selections and colour choices of your new home (which can be pretty daunting). From the very start, you also knew what you were getting in the build price, they start with an all inclusive package and then work backwards to take things out to suit your design and budget, so I didn’t have to worry about all of the extra costs that ‘pop up’ in the build. Despite the difficulties in the building industry that were out of their control, the team always had a smile on their face, communicated well and sent regular updates. Until next time….

Never having built a home before, we were quite nervous about the selection of a local builder. But the team at Fergus “got us” the minute we sat down for our first chat. They understood exactly what our vision was, and knew how important the type of build, and layout of the block, was to our lifestyle.
At the initial consultation we expressed how having a beautiful home, a clean (low maintenance) yard, room to fit an oversize shed and plenty of space to wash our boats and filet fish, was our primary aim and key driver in building our own home. They totally got it, and truly exceeded our expectations with both the house and yard plans. They also provided sound advice regarding many aspects of the build we were not familiar with (solar panels, yard watering irrigation systems, drainage etc).
The team at Fergus were very easy to talk to and approach if we had any questions (and we had lots and lots of questions). They were more like friends – super easy to speak to anytime to seek clarification or advice. We never felt like anything was a problem.
From day one when we met the team to the handover day, we were continually impressed with the way the worked with us and their professionalism. With both my husband and I working out of town, we felt at ease given the amount of updates we received as to what was happening week-to-week on our home.
This build happened more easily than we could have ever imagined.

Thank you hardly seems enough! We know we were not the easiest customers and our knowledge of the building process and past bad experiences often had us on edge. However, the Fergus team did an amazing job every step of the way to build us our dream home in a stress-free manner. As we sit on our awesome patio enjoying a drink looking out over our wonderful view, we reflect on the building process with Fergus by our sides.
Having built four times previously and having none of those builds go smoothly or without major dramas, we were very hesitant to engage in the building process again, but we had found our patch of paradise and wanted to build our final dream home. We engaged several Mackay builders but had to chase up things constantly or things were too hard and wasted six months of our time and were still without a builder. Adam was so frustrated he gave up on us ever finding a builder, so I embarked on a solo journey to find a builder – one that had integrity, listened to our needs and gave honest answers. I decided to give Fergus a ring, the moment I spoke with Amanda on the phone, then emailed a rough design, got a rough drawing back quickly – I became excited that we had found our builders. The service was prompt, honest and accommodating. I convinced Adam to come and meet the Fergus team. That first meeting was amazing, Nathan in his laid-back, down-to-earth way, demonstrated his vast knowledge of all things building whilst giving common sense explanations about different questions Adam had. Amanda’s friendly disposition and efficient organisation made us feel comfortable straight away. Yes, we had found our builders!
Throughout the whole build with Fergus, nothing was too much trouble and their attention to detail on the little things was simply amazing. Yes, little mistakes and problems cropped up along the way as they will, but none of these were a problem to any of the Fergus team – they would straight away get in and rectify things without any fuss. All the tradespeople that worked on our build were friendly and approachable. The quality of products and workmanship was great, and it was evident all tradies had been hand-picked by Fergus to ensure they met the high standards Fergus expected. Communication was a key component of everything Fergus does. As homeowners this is so important for your builder to be one step ahead and that email with an update is in your inbox, before you are wondering what’s happening next.

Overall the experience has been so smooth and stress free even though there were a few minor inconveniences we worked through. With your teams help holding my hand step by step from when I first approached you guys with a vision of what I imagined to actually living it out. The custom design, the shopping days, breaking ground, walk throughs to handover everything was dealt with professionalism and compassion. After I walked through the display home seeing the finish and standard of work I knew then that Fergus were going to build my home. Thank you for being apart of the biggest moment in my life to date. With this process I have grown so much as a person and can’t wait for Mi Casa Bella to be the beautiful home I worked so hard for. 10 years this dream has been in motion now I’ve lived it.

The thought of building our home was a daunting task; we, as first-home buyers, were green, and we had no idea where to start. These scary thoughts were relinquished once were met the team at Fergus. Amanda and her team. They took the ideology of our impossibilities to become a reality. We were guided throughout the process with respect and professionalism; we did not feel like we were a burden but more a part of the process. Our angst, perfectionist personalities, envisioned home and budget were all considered, and a plan was concocted. When my 19-year-old daughter embarked on building her first home, I steered her toward Fergus Builders. What a blessing that was. Whilst my previous involvement with building homes in Mackay was good, I didn’t realise the extent of the “Fergus” difference until I experienced it myself. Regardless of the number of changes to the contract, building design, or negotiating the everchanging government grant process, the staff at Fergus were happy, obliging and willing to do whatever they could to ensure my daughter’s first home was exactly what she wanted, at the best possible price, with the best quality we would squeeze out of her first home budget. They are the gold standard in professionalism and quality, and should be every home owners first port of call.

We’d been to a couple builders, but there was a different feel with Fergus. Our first official appointment with Amanda, made us decide to choice Fergus. Amanda went straight to work, customising the ‘Nova’ into what we wanted.

Prior to choosing Fergus homes to build our new home we had walked through countless display homes over the Mackay Region. We both really liked the layout, fixtures and feel about the Fergus display home. My husband met with Amanda from Fergus on a potential block of land we were looking at building on. Amanda went out of her way to help us come up with a personalised house plan that would not only suit us but suit the particular block of land. Countless emails were sent back and forth before we were happy with the plan and it could be priced up. All of this happened prior to us buying the block of land and signing on with Fergus which just went to show how far they went to help us achieve exactly what we wanted. The communication was a key point. They were extremely easy to get in touch with and always responded quickly to any questions that came up. The banter that we shared with the FAB 4 (Scotty, Nathan, Amanda & Vanessa) was definitely a highlight for us working with Fergus, which made it fun and relatively stress free. Their attention to detail was something to be noted on, the girls in the office Amanda and Vanessa picked up on things that we wouldn’t of otherwise noted. Nathan was always happy to answer any questions we had (and there were always PLENTY of them) without feeling like a burden despite how busy they were. What was particularly impressive was every subcontractor that we spoke to spoke so highly of Fergus, that they enjoy working for them and that we had made a great decision in choosing Fergus to build our home. Fergus builders is a quality builder that we would recommend to anyone who is looking for an honest, reliable and impressive builder. If we were to ever build again, we would definitely be contacting Fergus again.

It has been 17 years since we last built a home and we had collected a lot of ideas that we wanted to include. We were keen to get started with a builder who could accommodate them all, while ensuring the highest quality construction and design we could afford. After speaking to several local builders we chose to deal with Fergus builders because from the outset they most genuinely listened to how we wanted our finished home to look. Plus, we had been recommended to them by many others who had happily build with Fergus recently, and we wanted to feel secure in dealing with an established building company we could tryst.
From the beginning, we felt comfortable sitting with Amanda, who took all out pictures and ideas into consideration to draft a detailed floor plan that we were happy with. This included giving us lots of new options and additions to consider, using their years of experience and up-to-date knowledge of residential building and design trends.
At all times during the build, Nathan, Fergus’ Residential Manager, ensured every part of the house was customised to our satisfaction before completion, including maximum flexibility to fit in with our work schedules for on-site viewings which made everything easier. The especially provided us with peace of mind that we were part of building the bes home for us and our family.
Along the way, there were some design ideas we had that Fergus hadn’t exactly done before. This was no problem and they patiently sourced different suppliers and worked with us to make our visions a reality. As a result, we feel all work on our home was completed to a very high standard. Fergus did many things to make this happen including being totally transparent in our costs and what was available to us, making sure we were kept closely informed all the way through.
Throughout the build, we found every one of the Fergus Builders’ team professional, friendly and easygoing. They were clear about the building process and we knew what to expect, as much as possible. This resulted in us having a fantastic building experience, where out input and ideas felt respected and valued. We believe Fergus Builders truly did build out home with our individual style at the forefront.
Since moving into our new home we feel every aspect of out home reflects us and have received such positive feedback from friends and family.

We’ve been in our newly built home for almost a year now & the experience has been wonderful 💜 For us with it being our first home we’ve built, any issues we’ve had, whatever it may be, Fergus Builders are always on top of it.
